Hogwarts and the Scottish Highlands meet the Indian Himalayas and a princely palace. And like Hogwarts, it is a place of magic – that blends ancient Vedic wisdom with modern practices to unleash the joy and ease that often become dormant in us.

I'm in the middle of the bustling city of Kolkata as I begin writing this article but my mind is still holding onto the experience of the most magical country, and finding happiness in Bhutan.

Ladakh, nestled in the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir, is known primarily for its unique scenic landscape. It is fast becoming popular with tourists and especially trekkers both in India and abroad.

Dense, lush greenery enveloped me. A tranquil Lotus pond, suspended in the air, lay before me. At ground level, the Ayung River snaked along. Soaked in the spell of this tropical jungle, I walked across a footbridge.

Bhutan, a small Himalayan kingdom nestled between the Goliathans India and China, is one of the youngest democracies in the world. Its small population of 0.8 million people were happy with the absolute monarchy in place.

Jelly waves, purple coral and sponge sand on endless fields - that's Gozo, the second largest island in the Maltese archipelago. An island more distinctive and varied than any I have been to. I chose Gozo for a much deserved break.
